Local artists to open their studios for MAIDEN LA.
Kathy Leader and Alain Rogier will be opening their studios for a self-guided tour on August 7th as part of MAIDEN LA, a county-wide network of ‘happenings’ that will take place during the month of August. The focus is to highlight Los Angeles as a vastly extensive and vibrant community, connecting these happenings throughout the region.
Coinciding with two LA biennials, the Hammer Museum’s Made in LA show and Current:LA Water, MAIDEN LA—a playful anagram and homophone of ‘Made in LA’—is a call to assemble and connect any and all Los Angeles artists, curators, performers, collectives, etc., to host open studios, group shows, or self-initiated projects in both traditional and unconventional spaces.
Artists, organizers, and self-started spaces are encouraged to host a project anytime during the month of August, and to submit these details for inclusion in an online directory, smart phone app and interactive map. There will also be a limited edition fold-out map that will act as a physical guide to the network.

2016 Annual Meeting to take place on Sunday, May 1st.
The Crestwood Hills Association Annual Meeting will be held on Sunday, May 1st, 2016 at 3pm in the Crestwood Hills Park Recreation Center. Light refreshments will be served.
We invite you to join the community discussion and learn what the Crestwood Hills Association volunteers have been up to over the last year.
Elections will also be held for board officers whose 2-year terms are up for review. To be able to vote, dues must be paid for the 2016 calendar year. (Residents will be able to pay this year’s dues at the meeting.)

CHA Events in March
The CHA Board Meeting has been rescheduled for March 16th at 8pm.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the date for the monthly CHA Board Meeting has been changed from Tuesday, March 15th to Wednesday, March 16th. It will be held at 8pm at the Crestwood Hills Preschool. All members are welcome. Agenda items will include planning of the CHA Annual Meeting and presentations from those for and opposed to the proposed Preschool expansion. Come to the Crestwood Hills Happy Hour on March 19th at 6pm!
The Underground Utility Committee will be hosting a Neighborhood Happy Hour and Signature Rally at the local watering hole Bar Food on Saturday, March 19th at 6pm. If you plan to come, please RSVP. We’ll be available to answer any questions about the work being done to bury the utility poles in our area.
Bar Food is located at 12217 Wilshire Blvd. at the corner of Wilshire and Amherst. Check out the happy hour menu, which has a great selection of eats and drinks, including Blue Moon Lagunitas IPA for beer fans.
