Poet Wendell Brown to be honored on Sunday, Oct. 11th.

Wendell Brown (1945-2014) was much beloved in the Brentwood community. Even though he was homeless for much of his adult life, he inspired many through his poetry and compassion.

On Sunday, October 11th at 12 noon, Brentwood community leaders and neighbors will be coming together to honor his legacy with a sculpture that will have a permanent home in the place where Wendell was often seen distributing his poetry. His likeness has been rendered in bronze by noted Los Angeles artist, Jonathan Bickart.

The dedication will take place at 12011 San Vicente Blvd.

The 2015 Block Party Reunion and Softball Game is on!

Sunday, October 4th from 2–6pm in Crestwood Hills Park

CHA-T-shirts

The 2015 neighborhood celebration promises to be one to remember with more activities and great eats in the works. Whether or not you consider yourself a softball fan, there will be something for everyone.

Join residents of Crestwood Hills and the surrounding neighborhood of Kenter Canyon for live t-shirt screen printing with Printersaurus Rex, music, food, including famous Coolhaus ice cream, and the annual softball game.

This year also includes another special treat, as a group of Crestwood Hills residents from “the early days” will be celebrating their first ever reunion. Make plans to visit and hear stories of what life was like in Crestwood Hills during the pioneering days when traffic on Sunset Boulevard was the least of their worries!

The event is free for all Crestwood Hills Association dues-paying residents and $10 for all other Kenter residents. Download the event flyer.

Please RSVP to rsvp@crestwoodhills.com by September 28th to reserve your t-shirt with total attending and residential address.

Andrea Miller is organizing the reunion portion of this event. andrea@andreamillerrealty.com.
